The nursing department is an integral part of the educational team providing specialized medical support for our member districts. District consultations and medical reviews are available through the request for service process.
The nursing team has established individualized care plans to meet the students needs at Schramm Educational Center. In order to further enhance our student's education, nursing services are available to help them maintain an optimal state of health while at school. The school nurse also oversees all student health records.
Student based services are provided through physician orders and may include: medication administration, nutrition & hydration per gastrostomy button/tube, respiratory treatments, chest vest airway clearance treatments, blood sugar monitoring per glucometer, insulin administration, catheterization, care of colostomies, administration of emergency medications as indicated, oxygen therapy, suctioning as well as various medical needs and conditions of students.
